Description

 The initial production of the Avro Lancaster Mk.I was equipped with the Merlin XX engine; as production progressed, improved Merlin 22 and Merlin 24 engines were added. A Mk.II version was considered for production, equipped with Bristol-Hercules air-cooled star-shaped 18-cylinder engines, under the assumption that the supply of the Merlin engine would be delayed for large orders. However, this became unnecessary because the Merlin engine was made by Packard in the U.S. under license, ensuring a healthy supply. Aircraft equipped with the licensed version of the Merlin engine were known as Mk.II. 

This entirely new-mold kit of the Avro Lancaster B Mk.I features decals for 3 versions and photo-etched parts; it has about 824 parts and will be about 66.4cm long with a wingspan of 97.2cm when assembled. 

As an initial production bonus, transparent parts for the nose and fuselage will also be included! (If your kit does not have these transparent parts, it is not part of the initial production run.)  The initial version of this kit will come with both the transparent parts and normal-color parts for that section of the aircraft.
